ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Quinton Quam Sr. is from the Zuni Pueblo, where the people there are known for their intricate detailed work that can go from their phenomenal picturesque mosaic of stone & shell to their meticulously made cluster work. But regardless of what medium they choose to do, their work is the most time consuming & personally, some of the most beautiful out of all tribal work, which is definitely something that stands appreciation...Quinton Sr. has been creating these "Works of Art" since 1985 is a highly reputable artist in the industry that is very much sought after for his beautiful mosaic inlay work, where he specializes in creating the most beautiful Butterflies & Hummingbirds!

THE PENDANT:
To own a Quinton Sr. piece of jewelry, you might say is like owning a piece of art, where no 2 pieces are ever duplicated. A master lapidarist, where precise workmanship is of extreme importance, Quinton beautifully created this 'springtime' scene by hand cutting & shaping the big hummingbird & the 4 various colored flying butterflies that are mosaic inlaid into a big 49 mm round domed medallion (Just under 2" round-See photos)
The mosaic inlaid hummingbird 'painting' has an array of just about every stone/shell known to Puebloan/Southwestern jewelry, with wings made of Lapis, turquoise & malachite, a neck of Italian coral, a green gaspeite body & a 4 layered tail of melon shell, Italian coral, dark purple sugilite & white shell & a face & beak of turquoise.
The butterflies are made of Angel Skin Coral, turquoise, lapis & red coral & have abdomens of turquoise.
The pendant hangs from a bale that has about a 10 mm opening,so it can be hung on anything "up to" that size. but remember the smaller the chain(or Navajo Pearls) the more room it has to move & breathe freely on the strand..
This is a "One of a Kind" piece of "Art" that you can treasure & pass down to future generations! It's the perfect piece for those who adore Zuni inlay (as I do!!) & or Butterflies & Hummingbirds & because of the variety of colors, you can pull from any of these materials to pair with your other pieces!!

PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING
I am not a professional photographer, but I do try to do my hardest at giving you an accurate color. Warmer toned pieces & especially anything with yellow,(oranges, green) can come up much more vibrant & heavily saturated,so please take this into consideration. I photographed this in front of 2 different colored backdrops,so please go through the photos to see any variation.
In order to give you close up photos so I can provide you with all the detail, can tend to make the item look much more larger & everything is more magnified & exaggerated than in actuality. Close up's make the item look so large & then you get it in hand & you are shocked since the item is much smaller than how they looked in the photos..So to get an accurate idea of how big this is, what you can do is pull out a tape measure & compare to my given measurements.
