This came through my Santa Fe store by a resident who collects Native American jewelry & was down sizing. I was told she bought it from a Native American store here in Santa Fe many years ago (Around 2000) .This particular ring no longer fit,so she wanted to sell it.
It's a well made ring that is simple in design but says a lot in workmanship. The channel inlay Lapis work lays only on the top of the finger & the rest of the ring is all sterling & has a corrugated feel type band.(See photos)
This channel inlay work originates with the Zuni Pueblo people, but Navajo artists have picked up doing this type of work as well. Being I am not familiar with this hallmark, this could have been made by either tribe.
Wear this alone for a more simple look or would also make a perfect stackable ring! Try sandwiching it between 2 sterling bands or what ever else you have, that seems fit!
**Shown in the last photo are a pair of Lapis earrings that would pair very well with this ring!! ** (See “Earring 3” category)
