ABOUT THE ARTIST:
In comparison to some 'veteran' Navajo metalsmith's, Geneva is a relatively young silversmith who learned the art of metalsmithing from her mother "Genevieve Apachito'..She is a New Mexico native who comes from Socorro,NM & calls the town of Alamo,NM her home.
THE RING:
Making this type of work look all too easy, it isn't,,And especially when you’re trying to get the beads to match up in size, perfectly!! This is a tedious & time consuming process, where each of these beads were hand melted one by one & then placed atop of sheet sterling that has a oxidized finishing.. The beads are laid around the crosses & are highlighted by fresh water pearls which really gives this ring it's feminine vibe! The remainder of the ring has a contemporary mirror polished finishing.
These ooze a sweet-feminine feel & because of their contemporary edginess,they can be worn in or out of the southwest! Makes the perfect gift! Be sure to check out the matching earrings that are shown in photo 3 (Can be found under “EARRINGS 1) and the matching pearl pendant!! (Under “PENDANTS)
