ABOUT THE ARTIST:

In comparison to some 'veteran' Navajo metalsmith's, Geneva is a relatively young silversmith who learned the art of metalsmithing from her mother "Genevieve Apachito'..She is a New Mexico native who comes from Socorro,NM & continued being raised in Socorro county, in the town of Alamo,NM. Regardless of age or how long she has been creating jewelry,it’s the fact of how easy it comes to her, which is obvious in everything she makes.

THE PENDANT:

Making this type of work look all too easy, it isn't,,It's a tedious & time consuming process, where each of these beads were hand melted one by one & then placed atop of sheet sterling that has a oxidized finishing.. The beads are laid around the crosses & are highlighted by fresh water pearls that elegantly lay on a diagonal.. The remainder of the pendant has a contemporary mirror polished finishing.

The bale opening has about a 3/8" opening (Roughly 8 mm) & can be used with a regular sterling chain or a strand of sterling beads. You want to put it on no more than say a 7 mm bead size, so it can move & breathe on the necklace. With the pendant's finishing,you can use a mirror finished sterling necklace OR oxidized!

It's not over the top in size, but is large enough to be noticed in such an elegant way as it shows beautifully on the neckline. It oozes a sweet-feminine feel & because of it's contemporary edginess,this can be worn in or out of the southwest! Makes the perfect gift!
