Navajo artist Danny Clark resides in the Gallup,NM area & is a 40+ year veteran jeweler, who was taught by his father.What you get from Danny is traditional Navajo jewelry where there is never no question as to what tribe made the piece,since everything he makes has a unmistakably Navajo look! Danny stays true to his traditional roots.

DESCRIPTION:

I have had these squash blossom pendants in the past that were not only by other artists but by Danny as well..Some he made with top notch turquoise,while others he made of all sterling & I have to admit,every single one I've ever had of his has ALWAYS had something special & different that helped his to stand out from the rest!!

Designed in a larger size pendant that has an oxidized matte finishing,this particular one he made with 2 Mercury dimes that were soldered together & actually form a Mercury dime bead.The top dime has a readable date of 1929(see photo 5),where as the bottom it is hidden,so I am not sure what year the bottom dime is. The squash blossom bead is HUGE below & measures to be 36.5 mm round.(Just under 1-1/2")

The bale has an approximate 15 mm opening,so you want to use no larger than a 14.5 mm Navajo Pearl bead size so the pendant can 'move & breathe' on the necklace..Another thing that looks great with these squash pendants is when you put them on a long leather strip,which gives it a more rugged Santa Fe'an/Texas edginess!
