THE ARTIST:

Kewa Puebloan artisan, "Warren Nieto" is an artist who stays true to his Puebloan roots & has followed in his centuries old 'Ancestral Puebloan" footsteps that date centuries back in the Chaco Canyon/Mesa Verde areas in America.. There's not much he doesn't know that he can't tell you about & it's these roots of his that go into the jewelry he makes,with each being deeply connected to his Puebloan culture. Each piece will have a Puebloan story, a meaning as if to "paint the story" about life in the Pueblo into his work...He is one of the most humble & kindest artisans I know & am a proud carrier of his truly tasteful & artistic works.

THE EARRINGS

Very wearable in size & weight, these traditionally made earrings are made with an array of colorful materials known to the Kewa Pueblo. Each stone & shell is cut & shaped by the hands of Warren, which then are carefully placed atop of a Pen shell backing. Both of these pairs I do want to mention, have just a sliver of Australian Fire Opal in them! (See photos 4 & 11)

You can wear these however you like, whether it be the way that they're shown in the photos, or by turning them upside down, or even have them laying vertically! They are a 'mirrored' earring, so the design is the same on one as they are on the other.

These will compliment any southwestern jewelry collection & especially with the focus on Kewa Pueblo jewelry.

**** I do want to mention that because everyone has a different ear lobe thickness, Warren always gives a lengthy ear stem. He was telling me that if the stem is too long, you can take nail clippers to cut any excess off .A finger nail file can smooth out any rough edges.****
