Pre-Eagle Early to Mid 1940's Taxco-8 Panel "Cross/Circular X" Pattern-Sterling Bracelet 1" Wide-7-1/8" Long
Pre-Eagle Early to Mid 1940's Taxco-8 Panel "Cross/Circular X" Pattern-Sterling Bracelet 1" Wide-7-1/8" Long
Made with an undeniable 1940's Taxco aesthetic, this bracelet is classic in design of what was being produced during the height of the Mexican Silver Renaissance days (with the focus on Taxco Mexico) during the 1940's period of time. It's a design that has held up after all these decades & continues to be emulated by modern day Taxqueño/Taxqueña artisans.
It is designed in a 8 panel hinged bracelet that’s made with 4 cross panels & 4 circular shaped panels that have a "X" center which alternate in the bracelet's entirety. It lacks the 'eagle" hallmark, which started in 1948 & was a mandatory stamp that was stamped on anything that was sold within or shipped out of Mexico. The eagle's duration lasted from 1948-1979..So with that said, I would put the bracelet's timeline somewhere around 1943- 1945. The bracelet has developed a softened patina & will send it exactly like it is.(I do not polish valuable patina) For it's size,it has a bit of weight & I would not consider it to be a 'flimsy' bracelet.
Would be a great addition to any Mexican vintage jewelry collection!
