Having lost a a wonderful mosaic staff member to Covid, little did Federico know there was a 'blessing waiting to happen" when another mosaic artist came along with some impeccable skills that are far above average when it comes to exquisite lapidary art & mosaic inlay work.. This now staff member has actually become a top favorite of mine for this type of workmanship & every time I look at his work, I can't help but go on this 'workmanship' journey where you can witness his phenomenal mathematical & artistical skills that are so clearly obvious!!

This is a piece of "wearable art" that leans toward being 'abstract'..The figure is actually portrayed as a "Man/Butterfly" that has an exaggerated male head of Spiny Oyster, long Onyx black hair that is tied back with a cut of white Mother of Pearl. He is then designed with a Butterfly abdomen.Laid on the same sheet of sterling, are 7 linear shapes that graduate in size as they span along the curvature of the wrist, which depict the butterfly wearing a feather "Chief" headdress. If you zoom in on the butterfly's face profile, you'll see where he even has a nose & mouth that have been chiseled in!

All these materials are hand cut & shaped by hand to sit precisely in their own bezel which is then outlined with a twisted wire. The materials it's made with are cuts of "Natural" Sleeping Beauty turquoise, orange Spiny oyster shell, shimmery white Mother of Pearl & black onyx. On the headdress, the materials are laid horizontally in a mosaic channel inlay.

The mosaic is on it’s own platform & then is soldered atop of a wide tri-split shank that is beautifully tooled throughout & has as much to do with it's overall aesthetic as the butterfly! The gauge is nice & durable, so it's nice & solid!

Man or woman can wear this as long as you have a large size wrist that is more on the 'fleshy' side where you need a wider gap opening to put it on..Please refer to "How to Fit a Cuff" below if you're unsure if this will fit or feel free to email me! I will help in whatever way I can!

I will be posting clip earrings(Too heavy for post!), 2 different sized rings,(listed under rings) this cuff & in my listings, you will find this same design that was one of Federico's earliest pieces that's done in a pin,but instead of Sleeping Beauty Turquoise, the pin is made with some old Blue Gem Turquoise & is a teal color.The pin is vintage.
