MORENCI TURQUOISE:
For those not familiar, the Morenci mine was known to be one of THE largest copper mines in America, but story goes, that while mining for copper, the workers unearthed this massively large turquoise colored object and being they realized the value it could have, all production then went to focusing on the mining turquoise and put copper on the 'back shelve', so to speak. The Morenci mine produced harder grade turquoise (In turquoise, 'harder' equates to 'quality') & was the #1 choice turquoise used amongst top shelf Native artisans & especially back in the 1970's..The mine was closed decades ago and as of today, it is hard to find "top grade-natural' cuts of Morenci, unless they're vintage mined stones, found in vintage jewelry or by having a source who had it in their collection. You can't touch it these days without paying top dollar per carat. Morenci's signature traits are: For it's heart stopping 'true turquoise blues' & it's fingerprint iron pyrite ("fool’s gold" ) matrix.

THE CUFF:
Known for his "tastefully huge-wow factor" statement jewelry, Federico didn't fall short with this one & this has everything he is so widely known for.. There is nothing shy about this & if you have a bold personality where you want your jewelry to "speak" the minute you set foot out the door, then this cuff can only say to the world, who you are and the exquisite tastes you have!
Contributing to it’s just under 1/2 POUND weight, are 9 substantially large sized-free form cuts of the most gorgeous blue Morenci turquoise that are placed atop of an extremely hefty gauge sterling shank. (Feels like possibly a 4 to 6 gauge) Each of these cuts have their own unique, one of a kind personality, with the ones in the center, having the most pyrite. In southwestern turquoise jewelry, you don't always find cuts on a scale of being this big & it's the size of each, that we would consider to be somewhat huge and by putting all 9 of these together in their cluster pattern, dictates the 3-1/2" tall x 4" wide face! The shank is tapered & artistically hand tooled.

WRIST SIZE:
This is made for a wider sized wrist that is a little more "fleshy" & needs a wider 1-1/4" gap opening. to go over the arm. This is NOT adjustable because of the heavy gauge sterling. Please know your wrist size before purchasing since cuff's are one of the only bracelet's that have to fit right, so it does help to know your wrist size.. Please, before purchasing, please click on this link: How To Fit A Cuff ** to learn more about cuff fitting and If you need my help, please don't hesitate to contact me!!
