THE ARTIST:
One thing David is not, is a mediocre artist,in fact far from it.. Born in 1955 & starting his profession as a jeweler in 1976 when he was commissioned to design the jewelry for the March of Dimes Poster Child and President Ford’s senate. His excellent inlays are actually inspired by the aerial views of the earth that he sees from hot-air ballooning and skydiving. He is known for his clean & very abstract lines that then get filled in by his excellent cobblestone inlay work that equally point to his extraordinary lapidary skills . And regardless of how many 'cobblestone inlay' artists there out out there, one thing that can be said is that David has a style all his own where you will immediately know whose work it is!!This incredible artist produces some of the finest cobblestone inlay in present day & it's nno wonder why his work is in such high demand!

THE PENDANT:
Designed with a very contemporary, but yet at the same time every bit traditional Navajo, it's obvious that David allowed the elegant shape of the sterling which then dictated how all the materials went on to be precisely cut & then laid.

Diagonally placed at the top of the pendant is a cut of Kingman turquoise that sits secured in it's hand made serrated bezel & pulls from the small accented cut that is seen mixed in with the beautifully beveled branch coral. The inlaid cuts of coral are laid both vertically & horizontally, with a tiny sterling bar separating them. On the perimeter of the sterling, David hand sawed the sides of the pendant.

The bale has about a 8 mm opening,so you want to keep the necklace smaller than a 8 mm, so the pendant can move & breath freely on the necklace. Given my professional opinion, this will look good with a necklace no longer than say a 22" & on a contemporary finished sterling(As opposed to heavily oxidized)
