ABOUT THE KOKOPELLI:
For those of you who aren't familiar with this Kachina, the Kokopelli is probably one of the most popular kachina & is found throughout the Pueblos of the southwest..Kokopelli is a fertility deity, that is usually depicted as a humpbacked flute player (often with feathers or antenna-like protrusions on his head). This kachina goes further back in years than most even realize, with the first images appearing on Hohokam pottery over 1000 years ago,as well as being found carved in 'cave art'.. It’s a highly symbolic figure is associated with fertility(The baby maker!),music, attracting women, rain, happiness and good luck.
