Kewa Puebloan Artist-WARREN NIETO- Mosaic Inlaid - "Midnight Moon Over Santa Fe Sun" Turquoise THUNDERBIRD Bolo Tie with Matching Tips! 44" Long
MADE FOR MAN OR WOMAN!!
THE THUNDERBIRD :
Called the "Midnight Moon Over the Santa Fe Sun" bolo tie, this was made by the hands of my dear friend and Kewa Puebloan artist "WARREN NIETO". Made completely by hand where he hand cut all the materials in order to create a symbolic pictorial story..
What I love about Warren's work is for the fact that he doesn't just do Puebloan mosaic inlay jewelry that you can find in every gallery & all over the internet, but rather creates jewelry where there's an Ancestral Puebloan symbolic story, a message, a meaning within the piece.
Playing a major role in the signature southwestern birds design, is green Kingman turquoise that were cut in various shapes. Acting as the outline for the 1/2 moon & the turquoise "stars" you see in the upper area & the fiery Spiny Oyster sun in the lower half, are cuts of black jet & shimmery mother of pearl that are then carefully laid in a channel mosaic inlaid pattern. All the material is mosaic inlaid atop of a black Jet backing.

THE TIPS:
Except for the cut of red Apple Coral on the tips, the remaining materials share the same material color scheme as the Thunderbird. The tips are pretty thick, with the material being mosaic inlaid atop of black jet . The art is held onto a 4 mm black bolo cord & comes with an adjustable clasp,so you can wear this high or low!
This is not 'over the top' in size nor weight, but the art speaks for itself & overrides both the size & weight! If you collect any sort of Thunderbird jewelry & love 'art in shell & stone form', there's no way you can't appreciate this... So whether you're a Texas oilman, Texas Rancher, Tucson banker, Santa Fe gallery owner or just love wearing great Native American bolos, this then would be a great call!

A WORD:
I want to mention that if the tips are not ever facing the right way, how you fix this is: you release the adjustable clasp & turn and twist the leather strap so the tips are then facing front. Not letting them move while holding them in place, you then want to tighten the clasp. Also the way to make the strap lay straight & not curved (Especially after shipping!) is you can either take a warm damp cloth & run it down the leather to straighten it. You can also use a leather conditioning cloth or a steamer (Avoiding the art of course!) You can get leather conditioning wipes at just about any grocery store,Amazon, shoe repair, etc..
I have additional bolos made by Warren & do have many of his pieces that can be found under ‘Women’s Jewelry”(Necklace, jewelry sets, earrings) To find them, go to the front page of the website & put his name in the search & all should come up!

*PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING:
*****I do not consider myself a 'professional photographer" but I do try to give you photos that are 'realistic" in color, just so you're not shocked, nor disappointed when you get the piece. Although jewelry generally always looks better in person, you still have to take the monitor you're looking at the item with, into consideration. Please go through each photo to see any variation to get an idea. Whether it be your computer monitor or phone screen, the item can appear to be either more vivid (Or duller).
In order to give you close up photos so I can provide you with all the detail, photos can tend to make the item look much more larger & everything is more magnified than in actuality. So to get an idea of size, you can either look at it on the mannequin (photos) or if you have a measuring tape, please pull it out & compare everything to the measurements I provided you with.
