THE THUNDERBIRD:

You have not witnessed Puebloan Art, nor a more artistically-creatively made Thunderbird bolo till you own one made by Kewa Puebloan artist 'Warren Nieto"! His bolos have this incredible effect on you & this is probably one of the reasons as to why his bolos are so high in demand & are asked for by name!

With this particular Thunderbird Bolo,Warren stepped back into decades past when his late ancestors made & sold these Thunderbirds along the side of the road for the tourists to buy, but the one difference in then & now, was that they would use broken records or automobile battery casings for their base that they would then mosaic inlay all the stones & shells, atop of. Now the Pueblo people use black jet.

This signature bird of the southwest is designed where Warren's eye for color placement is heart stopping!! Each of these colored materials only help to boost the vibrancy of the other, which makes it a real site for the eye!

The bird is made with a rich red color of Apple Coral for his head & luminous white mother of pearl for his eyes & beak, while the bird himself, is made with tiny little bits of teal blue Kingman turquoise that make up his whole body. Outlining the mighty bird are slivers of Melon Shell. The bird is finalized with an alternating pattern of Apple Coral,Kingman Turquoise,Mother of Pearl at the bottom.

THE TIPS:

The matching tips share the same material color scheme & are nice & thick, with the material being mosaic inlaid atop of black jet (Fossilized Coal). The art is held onto a 4 mm black bolo cord & comes with an adjustable clasp,so you can wear this high or low!

This is not 'over the top' in size nor weight,but the art speaks for itself & overrides both the size & weight! A WORD:

I want to mention that if the tips are not ever facing the right way, how you fix this is: you release the adjustable clasp & turn & twist the leather strap so the tips are then facing front. Not letting them move while holding them in place, you then want to tighten the clasp. Also the way to make the strap lay straight & not curved (Especially after shipping!) is: you can either take a warm damp cloth & run it down the leather to straighten it. You can also use a leather conditioning cloth or a steamer (Avoiding the art of course!) You can get leather conditioning wipes at just about any grocery store,Amazon,shoe repair, etc..
