Often you'll say "What is this"?? & with Mary's jewelry,it's all in how you see it, that will be different from how others see it as & will get out of it! This is what "Abstract Art" is!

These lucky little Ladybug's are artistically created in an very whimsical Folk Art style that is a 'wearable piece of art'..It's made up of 3 good size Ladybug panels, with each being differently designed & are given a different color scheme that contributes to the explosion of color it has! The are all mosaic inlaid with her signature "Conus shell" that act as the swirly tops & it's when she slices into the shell, they create these swirly fun shapes that she then uses for her subjects. Both the Thulite (Raspberry color) & Spiny Oyster Ladybug have a center made of bone & again, when it's sliced, creates a scalloped floral design..

What I love about her way of designing is for the fact that the materials are never meant to be cut perfectly & to look SO uniform, as if they were bought at some hobby store or made in a commercial manufacturing plant,but having an irregularity to each cut that gives them their funky look! This is a 'signature' look of her's that let's you know, whose work it is!

THE TURQUOISE BEAD NECKLACE:
The beaded necklace is all hand cut & due to Mary's popularity & the inability at times to do everything completely by herself anymore in order to get orders out, it now has become a family operation with everyone having a role from beginning to end.Mary however,will ALWAYS lay out the materials & then mosaic inlay each,while the cutting of the beads she will share with her Award winner husband Lorenzo, who is a master cutter.. (As well as a gold/silversmith!) These particular beads are cut by Lorenzo,who cut the beads/heishi into these precise disks.He then hand drills each & every bead.He is so skilled at cutting that if you run your hands down the strand,you won't feel rough edges! THAT'S how you separate one who's skilled from one who isn't!
