FEDERICO JIMENEZ- Impressive- 41 Panel - Hand Cut "Pentagon" Shaped -Premium Lapis- CLEOPATRA Sterling Collar Necklace / Earring Set -17"
SOLD AS A SET!!!
I DO HOWEVER,HAVE ANOTHER PAIR OF THE EARRINGS BY THEMSELVES THAT ARE IN MY ‘EARRINGS 4’ LISTINGS!
This has to be one of the most incredibly designed necklaces that deserves appreciation for the artistic thought process that went into it, as well as for the mathematical mind, where one has to have a strong sense for design & years at being not only a jeweler, but extraordinary lapidarian skills to match!! One thing that is clearly obvious, is the apparent time it took to make!
THE COLLAR:
This showy & very stunning looking Cleopatra collar is something that could not have been made in a matter of a few hours, nor in a few days, when you figure that each & every one of these pentagon shaped Lapis cuts were cut & shaped completely by HAND! These are NOT industry purchased cuts of Lapis & then bezel set into the design, but each & every one was HAND CUT! Also if you've never been a lapidarian, one thing you should know is that Lapis is THE hardest to cut since it's an extremely dense stone, where NUMEROUS drill bits & grinding wheels have to be used, since the stone wears them out, that quick!!!!
You have to figure, that to create a necklace in order for it to lay perfectly & gracefully follow the neckline, the stones not only have to be cut precisely, but you have to know which length goes where & especially when the design is 'graduating' in lengths that go from longer to shorter as the design veers to the closure... The straight lines on the sides, are cut with precision & their tips are cut in a perfect "V" shape!
Made with only 'premium' cuts of Lapis that have an abundant amount of pyrite, which is what you want to see with the better grade cuts,as well as each having the same depth of color as the next. I would call this color of Lapis a "Cobalt" blue that is seriously intense in color.. No where does the color vary, so they're nice & uniform. Each cut sits in a their own bezel that is then finished in a contemporary finished sterling..Each panel is connected by heavy gauge "O" rings, which allows this to fold up nicely for storage or travel. This was made with a GENEROUS amount of materials, so there is a hefty amount of both stone & metal, which contributes to it's just over 1/2 pound 9 ounce weight..(See weight below)
The matching earrings are very wearable & have a wearable weight & size. They are in a post style & can easily be converted to clips by a reputable jeweler, if need be!(This is something you would have to do.)
This is a powerful style necklace that is highly sophisticated & super classy & has the power to turn many a head!!
