ABOUT LARRY COOLEY TURQUOISE:

The turquoise that this is made with, came from the late "Larry Cooley's" private collection. Mr. Cooley was one of the most reputably known turquoise vendors in the industry, who artists would go to when they wanted the highest quality turquoise for their own designs.. Since he was very knowledgeable, he knew what separated the junk from the premium grades & was committed to offering only the finest that each mine produced. He was one who wouldn't dare offer turquoise to someone, that he himself, wouldn't want.

One would be right to say that, the turquoise he collected & sold, were qualities that only the finest of the finest "Turquoise Connoisseur's" would buy..He had a vast collection of nothing BUT premium turquoise that were all natural,since his rocks were mined long before they started treating turquoise & had the best that each mine produced.

So these cuts are an excellent grade of natural turquoise, which is getting more & more difficult to find anymore, unless you're willing to pay top dollar per carat. That is if you can find any, since much has gone into private collectors hands & has become very valuable... After Larry's passing, everyone wanted dibs on his whole collection, but because of Federico's long time connection with Larry & Larry's family, he was fortunate to purchase this 'once in a lifetime' limited & very pricy collection(This is reflected in price) So once these stones are used up, they're gone!

DESCRIPTION:

Tastefully created in a 5 panel 'wearable art' design, this is made with the majestic beauty of 5 large Dragonflies that are displayed in a simple bezel setting, so there is nothing to distract or take away from their playful look..

Made with a "sampler" variety of both Arizona & Nevada turquoise is what gives this the ultimate contrast it has..From bright cuts of Morenci turquoise,to teal green cuts of Blue Gem & Pilot Mountain, to beautiful sky blue color Royston turquoise, makes for a compatible color combo

From one end of the design to the other, spans to a length of 8-1/2",so this will cover the whole frontal area & even more so when you use the extender & bring the length up higher by using the extender chain. The chain is made totally by hand by making little jump rings & then soldering each & every link together!! There is enough of of an opening in the links that you can place the hook anywhere.(See photo 15) Just be aware however that the shorter you go,the more chain will hang from the backside. Each Dragonfly is connected with "O" rings which allows it to fold up nicely for travel!

This is very wearable in weight that is easy on the neck, while offering a very classy southwestern look! (See weights below) Only one made & is a "One of a Kind" necklace!
