ABOUT LARRY COOLEY TURQUOISE:

The turquoise that this was made with, came from the late "Larry Cooley's" private collection. Mr. Cooley was one of the most reputably known turquoise vendors in the industry, who artists would go to when they wanted the highest quality turquoise for their own designs.. Since he was very knowledgeable, he knew what separated the junk from the premium grades & was committed to offering only the finest that each mine produced. He was one who wouldn't dare offer turquoise to someone, that he himself, wouldn't want.

One would be right to say that, the turquoise he collected & sold, were qualities that only the finest of the finest "Turquoise Connoisseur's" would buy..He had a vast collection of nothing BUT premium turquoise that were all natural,since his rocks were mined long before they started treating turquoise & had the best that each mine produced.

So these cuts are an excellent grade of natural turquoise, which is getting more & more difficult to find anymore, unless you're willing to pay top dollar per carat. That is if you can find any, since much has gone into private collectors hands & have become very valuable... After Larry's passing, everyone wanted dibs on his whole collection, but because of Federico's long time connection with Larry & Larry's family, he was fortunate to purchase this 'once in a lifetime' limited & very pricy collection(This is reflected in price) So once these stones are used up, they're gone!

DESCRIPTION:

I am truly at a loss for words & literally want to drool every time I look at this necklace! It's literally a turquoise connoisseurs dream & I get such a thrill knowing I am able to offer such a necklace with this fine of turquoise! Now, you even can't touch most of this turquoise that has this quality unless it's from vintage jewelry, or by paying top $$$$ per carat for it & that is,if you can even find it! I have carried & do carry many pieces from Larry Cooley's collection & while I appreciate each & every one,I have to say,this one really makes my mouth water!

This necklace is the perfect example of the quality & wonderful cuts that Larry had in his collection & not only is this made with a VERY select "SAMPLER" pick from many of our top USA mines,but it's the quality that each one of these cuts have!! Many of these mines have since closed down since this turquoise was mined & many hold their own when it comes to the 'Collectible Factor'..(Just some in this: Morenci, Blue Gem,Pilot Mountain,Bisbee, #8, Candeleria,Royston Turquoise,Kingman,etc) Being these mines produce different colors,with some producing bright vibrant blues,some producing teal blues,some with earthy brown matrix, while others produce black matrix, contributes to the amazing contrast this has throughout! It's like a 'mosaic medley' of colors!

THE DESIGN:

This is made with an alternating pattern of 5 -2 rectangular stone drops & 4 single oval cuts.(Per side) Each of these has different turquoise per section,with NO 2 matching! Each of these cuts are on the 'generous' side & are not skimpy at all & each size was given careful consideration when the design was being laid out.

Each panel is connected by “O” rings for movement and allows it to fold easy for travel.The necklace is finalized with 3 single cuts per side & ends with a 1-1/2" extender chain per side.(With Hook & Eye: 2.50")

This is a ‘one-of-a-kind necklace without another like it & being the turquoise came from Larry's collection, none of it can be replaced. if your tastes are for the "Finer" pieces that the southwest offers, I can give you my word that this is a necklace that stands appreciation for it's top notch quality & look & is good enough to be passed down from generation to generation!
