The beauty of owning a piece like this, is for the fact that this is the real deal & ISN"T a costume piece,but rather made in fine sterling & all natural,untreated, high quality bright vivid blue Kingman & Morenci turquoise!! The turquoise in it came from the late Larry Cooley's collection,who was the man,where artists would go to in the industry to get their premium turquoise from & his collection spanned being mined as far back to the 50's & 60's,long before they started treating turquoise,as well as many of the mines being still active.Larry collected nothing but the best & it would be a joke for him to be carrying 'junk-chalky' turquoise.So this necklace is filled with numerous carats of fine turquoise from his collection..(Reflected in the price)

This is a piece that obviously took awhile to make & is clearly made with an architectural mind, where the mind has to be both mathematical & analytical to make a piece like this..There are 24 linear panels & each have to align precisely as they follow the curvature of the neckline with no gaps,overhang & have fluid motion..This is without doubt,made perfect! There are 16 panels that hold 3 vertically laid stones (Left & right of center) & 8 panels where it holds 4 vertically laid stones(Center area) The stones are sheltered in a shadowbox housing & what I find impressive about the design, is how the sterling that lays along the top & bottom perimeter lines,gives this a 'design within a design' & especially when you look at it from a distance,since all you see is an outline of all sterling!(See all photos) Each panel is linked together with 2 jump rings on the backside to keep each panel stationary.

It has a contemporary non traditional southwest edginess to it & is finished in a mirror polished finishing,which allows this to be worn beautifully in or out of the southwest!

The chain works as an extender where you have 3 large "O" rings on the end that you can use to adjust,but you can even wear it shorter by putting the hook anywhere within the rest of the chain to wear it higher up on the neck to give you that real Cleopatra look!! (See top chain in photo 11)
