ABOUT LARRY COOLEY TURQUOISE:

The turquoise that this is made with, came from the late "Larry Cooley's" private collection. Mr. Cooley was one of the most reputably known turquoise vendors in the industry, who artists would go to when they wanted the highest quality turquoise for their own designs.. Since he was very knowledgeable, he knew what separated the junk from the premium grades & was committed to offering only the finest that each mine produced. He was one who wouldn't dare offer turquoise to someone, that he himself, wouldn't want. He was all about the best there was..

One would be right to say that, the turquoise he collected & sold, were qualities that only the finest of the finest "Turquoise Connoisseur's" would buy.. He had a vast collection of nothing BUT premium turquoise that were all natural, since his rocks were mined long before they started treating turquoise & had the best that each mine produced.

So these cuts are an excellent grade of natural turquoise, which is getting more & more difficult to find anymore, unless you're willing to pay top dollar per carat & that is if you can find any, since much has gone into private collectors hands & has become very valuable... After Larry's passing, everyone wanted dibs on his whole collection, but because of Federico's long time connection with Larry & Larry's family, he was fortunate to purchase this 'once in a lifetime' limited & very pricy collection(This is reflected in price) So once these stones are used up, they're gone!

DESCRIPTION:

This necklace is the perfect example of the superior quality of stones that Larry had in his collection!! Not only is this made with a "very select" choice of turquoise that are mostly from Nevada mines,but it's the premium quality & phenomenal coloring that each one of these cuts have, that rank it as a "Exceptional" turquoise necklace.. Having been in this business now for decades & knowing my turquoise & their various qualities, I have to say, that it's not everyday you come across turquoise like this necklace has & especially not with the size that each one of these stones have!

Truly a turquoise connoisseurs dream,this is made in a "Sampler" style where the majority of the rocks are from the (old) Blue Gem mine,Pilot Mountain,Royston turquoise mines,with some added premium Kingman. Being these mines produce various colors,with some producing bright vibrant blues,some producing teal blues/teal greens that have both blue AND green,while some have that earthy golden brown matrix, to a rich warm brown,is what contributes to it's mouthwatering contrast & character throughout! All these stones are intense in color with some serious saturation going on in color!! There's even some killer emerald/foresty greens colors in it! The colors with many of the stones,remind me of being deep down in the cleanest blue/green Caribbean waters!

Made in a Squash Blossom style,this is designed with 22 chunky size stones(11 per side) that have a LOT of carat weight each & are placed in a simple bezel housing & have a little size blossom on the ends.Because of this being made with a 'Sampler" variety of stones from various mines,each stone was given careful consideration being it was more important to match the oval cuts,than it was to match the exact size from side to side. The center is on the huge side & is beautifully arranged in a cluster style.

This is a ‘one-of-a-kind necklace without another like it & if your tastes are for the "Finer" pieces that not only the southwest offers, but one of Federico's finest, I can give you my word that this is a necklace that stands appreciation for it's top notch quality & look!!! It is worth every dollar & is good enough to be passed down from generation to generation & what I would call an 'investment' piece, since these stones will always hold their value..

While you really won't be able to get an accurate idea just how gorgeous these stones are from the photos, you can't really get an idea until you get this in hand to see exactly what I'm talking about!
