Federico Jimenez-Natural Minty Green Carico Lake Turquoise-Figural Cluster Sterling Earrings-2-3/4" - 41.7 Grams
TURQUOISE PROVENANCE:
These Carico Lake cuts are just another perfect example of the turquoise that came from the late Larry Cooley's collection.. Larry was very well known & admired in the turquoise industry & had a vast collection from every single mine, with only the finest, most premium qualities on hand, so when artists like Federico would come to buy, this was the go-to guy that everyone went to.
Larry collected for decades & since then, many of our mines have since closed down & since his collection was mined before they started treating turquoise, means that his turquoise was all natural & one thing you wouldn't find would be low grade-inferior cuts & or treated stones. Long story short, when Larry passed some years back, everyone was willing to pay top dollar to buy his whole collection, but because of Federico's connection to Larry, Larry's family offered Federico his AMAZING collection.. Yes it was over the top in price, but worth every dollar & some of Federico's most beautifully designed pieces have Larry's turquoise.(The quality in these is dictated in the price) To see more: Click on the name "Larry Cooley Turquoise” in each category
THE EARRINGS:
These well designed earrings are made with nothing less than an imaginative/creative mind.. Looking like an abstract Ballerina dancer, these were made by taking cuts to emulate the entire figural design. Large tear drop shape cuts act as the face & the body, while the arms are made with elongated ovals & then finally, the little pear cuts that look like she is dancing on her toes, just like a ballerina! Maybe you may see a different figure,it’s all in the imagination!
The Carico turquoise is a pastel like minty green, with some cuts having that signature golden brown matrix, known to many Nevada mines.
WEIGHT:
Because of the generous amounts of materials, these do have some weight, so please know what weight your ears can handle before you purchase! I feel they are fine, but if you can’t stand any kind of weight on your ears, then I suggest you maybe go through the website & pick out something with a lighter weight & or are smaller. I also carry a product that helps to take the weight off the ear & they can be found under “Women’s Jewelry” then in the drop down, click on “Other-Concho belts Plus More” They are called “LOBE WONDERS”
****The Artist, the artist’s reputation, the turquoise quality, the carat weight, the cost per carat for this type of quality, sterling cost & artists time are all reflected in the price****

PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING:
*****I do not consider myself a 'professional photographer" but I do try to give you photos that are 'realistic" in color, just so you're not shocked, nor disappointed when you get the piece. However, I do find photographing anything with 'yellow' in it, (orange, green) can come up a bit more vivid than other colors, so please take this into consideration. Please know that all screen monitors are different, so the materials can look brighter (or duller) ,more intense or less intense from one computer/phone to the next.
In order to give you close up photos so I can provide you with all the detail, can tend to make the item look much more larger & everything is more magnified & exaggerated than in actuality. Close up's make the item look so large & then you get it in hand & you are shocked to see how much smaller the item is than how they looked in the photos..So to get an accurate idea of how big these are, please either check them out being worn to get a rough idea (photos 2 & 9) or you can pull out a tape measure & compare to my given measurements.
