No matter where Federico goes in jewelry design,one thing that will always have his name attached is the fine filigree work that is signature to his Oaxaca homeland. Oaxaca has been producing some of the finest filigree since the Spaniards came in to Mexico centuries ago & with them they brought their designs & techniques & their influence has been around ever since..
Filigree is a true artform that takes impeccable skills, extreme patience, a steady hand, as well as good eye sight! These artisans work with some of the thinnest wire & with each loop & each twist, the wire has to be precisely worked in order to get a uniform, form. Not everyone that does jewelry can master the art of filigree,so it takes a true master artisan to do this type of work.

THE EARRINGS:
Made in a 'mirrored' style earring, these light & wearable earrings are made with the serenity of hand fabricated Love Birds that are tooled throughout their body & act as the anchor for the circular form, filigree drop. Atop of the filigree are little 'cups' that have a 'diamond cut' rim & which are then used for the beads so they have something to sit in & which are then sewed in & tightened off on the backside.(See photo 9 & 10) Wear them however you choose,but normally the doves are worn facing the face.
These are an earring that screams "Oaxaca" & would be the perfect go-to earrings for any Mexican wardrobe.
