Navajo "PAUL CHEE" Vintage 1970's- Heavy Battle Mountain Turquoise- Vintage Traditional 925 Cuff -4.4 Ounces~ 2~3/4"- For Smaller Wrist
Created in the 70's by Navajo Paul Chee..It's made with heavy gauge sterling,so it would be hard to bend this one out of shape!
The cuff has various shape stones that all match in color. The turquoise is from Battle Mountain, Nevada & comes from a time before they started treating turquoise.
These stones have maintained their color after all these years, which tells me that they are top notch & higher quality..Quality in turquoise is based on it's "Hardness" & with hardness, the turquoise is less porous & blue turquoise will not change to those deep greens like you see in vintage stones. It stays the same color throughout it's lifetime. So with that said, this has some quality turquoise in it!
The face sits atop of a wire shank that is made with strong/thick 8-10 gauge sterling wire, which is extremely heavy & literally makes it non destructible!
The turquoise sits secure in their 'saw tooth' bezels .One of the stones has a little 'pitting' which is inherit & very common in turquoise & generally happens in the matrix.
