A LITTLE ABOUT THE MAN & THE ERA:

Fred Harvey era jewelry is now considered some of the most collectible vintage jewelry in modern day and is valued for its historical significance & historical southwestern appeal. Harvey jewelry IS a reminder of the American West and the people who lived there & or traveled through this area of the country.

Harvey/Harvey era jewelry was made for the "tourist" travelers who would travel by train along the southwest & who were looking for Native made jewelry, but without the cost or size. Back then, jewelry was designed with ‘Symbolic Native Stamps” that actually had meaning (e.g.: applique overlays) or stamped motifs that were stamped into say the metal which would have been otherwise, left bare. You'll find many of todays artists just stamping into the metal for looks that dress up the metal, rather than the stamps having significant meaning like they did back then.

THE CUFF:

This uniquely designed cuff displays all of it's "Harvey-esque" vintage attributes, while showing no signs of wear since it's been well kept & well taken care of.

The shank is made in a tapered, quad split style,(see last photo) where it goes from a 1.25" & then narrows down to 1/2" at the terminals. This width dictates the amount of stones that were used from the center to the gap.

Designed in a 'diamond' shaped pattern while laying diagonally, little 3 mm cabs of teal color turquoise were then placed & all sit in their sawtooth-serrated bezels. The latter is what impresses me,is for the fact when you consider how old this is and the excellent condition they're in! Usually you will see some of the teeth gone, bent or just plain ruined because of time & wear.. But these are like new! The turquoise is a true teal blue & considering it's age, my guess is that they may had once been a lighter blue & have changed to a teal, due to the turquoise's porosity, time and body oils.

Like most of the jewelry that was made for the Harvey team, this too, is on the lighter side. Because of the design & the lighter metal gauge, this can be adjusted, but with know how. It's of extreme importance that you know your wrist size and what gap opening you need for it to comfortably fit over the arm. It is made for a average to larger sized wrist size, but a wrist that is not 'fleshy' & doesn't need a larger gap opening. This has a 1-1/8" gap opening, so it's meant to fit a somewhat of a wider wrist & but a wrist that is not so 'meaty'.

If you are unsure of your wrist size, I suggest youclick this link on "How To Fit A Cuff" and also I suggest you copy/paste the YouTube link I have there, that shows the right way, you should put a cuff on! If you are not sure of your size, please go over this before purchasing & or contact me, since there are no returns for not fitting properly.

PLEASE GO THROUGH ALL THE PHOTOS SINCE THEY PLAY A ROLE TO THE DESCRIPTION
