CUFF'S PROVENANCE:
This came from another Santa Fe dealer who was closing it's doors & was telling me that they got it from a very well known Santa Fe'an family who had this, plus more in their collection for decades.
THE CUFF:
This cuff screams a wonderful & historical Navajo vibe that's made with the beauty of Blue Gem turquoise that was very popular during this time period. It's personally one of my favorite mines that I have always deeply admire based on it's rich deep teal colors that you just don't get with other mines! Since the mine closed decades back, you just can't get this color & quality anymore unless vintage.
The turquoise found in the Blue Gem mine is some of the highest quality turquoise found in Nevada. Blue Gem turquoise is an extremely hard, gem-grade turquoise stone & when we talk turquoise, the harder the stone, the higher the quality. When the stone is a high quality, it does not require stabilization in order to be cut by the lapidarian. . Artists love working with Blue Gem because of its hardness, deep colors, and ability to hold a beautiful polish. (another sign of hardness-quality) It is highly collectible & will never lose it's value.!
Because of the metal gauge, this cannot be adjusted, so it's of extreme importance that you know your wrist size and what gap opening you need for it to comfortably fit over the arm. It is made for a wider, larger wrist size, (larger/medium to large size wrist) but a wrist that's more 'fleshy' where you need a larger gap opening. This has a fairly wide gap opening (1-3/8") so it's meant to fit a somewhat larger wrist. If you are unsure of your wrist size,I suggest you click this link: "How To Fit A Cuff" and also I suggest you copy/paste the YouTube link I have there, that shows the right way, you should put a cuff on! If you are not sure of your size, please go over this before purchasing & or contact me.
