ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Navajo metalsmith Calvin Belin is a 52 year old man who has been making jewelry since he was 12 & like most Navajo children, they are raised in a household of other jeweler's, who are mainly their parents..He worked under his father who had the young Calvin,making bezels for his jewelry.. He lives in the heart of the Navajo Reservation in the town of Crownpoint,NM.

THE RING:

Made with a fabulous cut of Sonoran turquoise that has colorings of both green & blue.. The stone has an overall teal color to it & the green is so dark that it actually looks brown from afar, with circular hints of turquoise blue peaking through.. Definitely a one of a kind stone! Acting like a frame for the stone, Calvin spiced the stone up with little sterling beads & 1/2 triangular wire that has traditional Navajo saw work.. Larger beads sit at the north/south ends of the ring. The face has just enough of a oxidized finishing to bring out the vibrancy of the stone & the metals luster!

The face sits atop of a tri-split non adjustable shank . Perfect for the wearer who loves their stone to solely speak without distraction!
