Buyers who are familiar with Benjamin's work, know him mostly for his beautifully made mosaic inlaid 'Navajo Story Teller" Concho belts.
Born on the Navajo reservation in the town of Crownpoint,NM in the early 50's,Benjamin has been a jeweler since the 70's..Considered a "Veteran Jeweler", there's not much you can't put in front of him, that he doesn't know how to do. He's an artist that gives it to you straight, with sincerity, backed by nothing but, tradition.
This big statement sized ring has an undeniable Navajo look, where there' no 2nd guessing as to what tribe made it. Laid atop of a 2.50" long rectangular shaped sterling platform, sits 16 various colored green cuts of Sonoran Gold turquoise that beautifully sit in their own scalloped shaped bezels. Filling in the empty spaces in between each stone, are hand made sterling beads that Benjamin makes himself by melting the sterling into little beads.
Besides the face of the ring being the star of the show, Benjamin made a phenomenal looking,wide shank that is tooled in it's entirety & is given a scallop perimeter. It measures at a 9-1/2,but with these wide shanks, you may want to be about a 1/2 size to 3/4 size smaller to accommodate it's 3/4" width.
