Federico’s love for traditional Zuni mosaic inlay work has been witnessed down through the years, in his own work, where he pays homage to these wonderful Puebloan artists & the work that’s associated with them.

Artfully placed atop of heavy gauge sterling sheet is the Zuni Rainbow Man who is known In Zuni culture to be a sacred guardian spirit associated with life giving summer rains, and the rainbow that appears after rain. He is a symbol of protection, abundance, and the vital role of water for the Zuni people. The rainbow itself symbolizes the blessings of rain and the promise of life after a storm, reinforcing the Rainbow Man's connection to renewal and hope. The Rainbow Man is also a powerful protector, often depicted on Zuni war shields, signifying his role as a guardian against harm.He is a well known figure among the Zuni.

Taking from a larger slab of Sleeping Beauty turquoise, black onyx, Spiny Oyster & white shell, each were then cut & shaped with impeccable skilled hands, where each then lay in a raised flush setting that sits inside a secure bezel. The work is tedious when done on this small of scale, but as you can see, it is done precisely & very accurately.
