MEET THE ARTIST:
What some do with paint brushes or what others do in sculpting stone,Kathy's medium is creating art in metal form with no 2 pieces of art alike.. She is an AMAZING artist & is probably one of the most artistic artists that I am more than honored to offer! And just when you think you’ve seen just about everything Kathy has made, she continually surprises us with something like the world has never seen before by creating something so unimaginable that comes with a whole new level of WOW!! She is the 'epitome' of a TRUE artist whose jewelry is high in demand since she is highly collectible & has customers aching to get their hands on anything she creates. Each one of her piece's are treasurable pieces of art!

Kathy was born & raised in New Mexico & now makes Texas her home. But regardless of where she resides, she will always be connected to the spiritual art in her work that is found through out the churches & homes of New Mexico, which have a vast amount of this kind of religious/devotional art which are generally done with wood. She is a veteran jeweler & has about 30 years under her belt. You'll find both Native & Mexican influences that are inspired from New Mexico, with many of her pieces having a sincere spiritual theme. They are creations created with a heart full of love & are totally created by hand.

Personally speaking I think Kathy outdid & raised the bar numerous times over, with this never before seen in metal form necklace! Kathy combines the religious beauty of "Our Lady de Guadalupe" and places her in her hand made and remarkable made, heavy gauge sterling niche.

NICHE:

In architecture, a niche is a recess or cavity constructed in the thickness of a wall for the reception of decorative objects such as statues, busts, urns, and vases. Niche's are very commonly seen, especially in the old adobes here in Santa Fe & parts of New Mexico. Because of this architectural addition to homes, ,a niche is still added to the newer homes in order to maintain the traditional look of New Mexico. Inside the the homes here, you will find niches that will display the owners religious statues(Bultos) or any other art that they want to highlight. Some niches now have lighting at the top so their art never goes unnoticed.
