Circa 1940's Zuni Puebloan-Entirely Hand Made-Turquoise Cluster Squash Blossom Style Sterling Necklace-About 25"-Wonderful Vintage Character!

$1,395.00

Delicate in design but one that speaks the historical beauty of Zuni jewelry on the neckline, this is a true vintage Zuni Puebloan necklace made in a classic Zuni style.

The handmade factor can clearly be seen throughout all of the 8 small cluster panels & naja, to the links that connect them, to the hand cutting & shaping of each stone, to the serrated bezels that hold each of the stones.

This was made back in the day when tools weren't as readily available to artists, like they are now..And because of that, gives this somewhat of a 'primitive' look to the way it was made, which adds that much more character.By looking at it, really shows a timeline & how far we've advanced !

As far as the turquoise used, my guess is, that it is from the "Blue Gem" mine & of course comes all natural, since that was all there was available at the decade it was made. By looking at these cuts & seeing very little 'color change' in some stones, tells you these are a higher quality turquoise & are a higher quality "Harder" grade & in turquoise, the harder the turquoise, the higher the quality & the higher the quality, the less the color changes over time. It it's entirety, all the stones are in a pear' cut with slight variations in shape. Each sit in hand made serrated bezels & are in there securely.

Veering up the neckline is a hand made link chain with hand made spacers & by turning it around to put it on so you can see what you're doing, you can also put the hook in one of the links to make it shorter! It has beautifully patinated over time and will send it just like it is .(I do not polish vintage!)
