Authentic Navajo Pearls(Bench Beads) are made entirely by the hands of Navajo silversmiths.Making each & every bead is a extremely labor intensive process..These are made with the silver being melted, rolled & then go through a lengthy process by cutting,drilling each hole,soldering,filing,hand stamping (If any),hand finishing them & then stringing each,one by one.All these things contribute as to why they stand out above the rest!

There is nothing used by manufactures to make them get made faster & nothing you’ll find in these are done in a commercial way.These are made the ‘Old School’ way & unlike machine cut,touristy,commercial,overseas made beads,these are validated in not only what you will see by ‘eye’,but you may find that there may be just a slight variation in the millimeter of the size of beads..Many times you can also see it in the seams,depending how much time is spent making the seam flawless.

Navajo Rose Martin is a NM native who resides on the Navajo reservation,in Pinedale,NM just outside Crown Point,which is right in the heart of the Navajo Reservation.She is the descendant of a multi generation family who were the 1st to start making Navajo Pearls decades ago & with each generation,each learn the art of making traditional Navajo Pearls..Rose has now been making them for at least 30 years & is considered “A MASTER”,making these impeccable time consuming beads.You won’t find this artist making nothing other than beads,so you are guaranteed a Navajo Pearl necklace by one after decades of doing these,definitely knows what she is doing! She is now teaching her children the art of making these ‘Pearls”.

By looking at these you can witness Rose's skilled experience in bead making & it's very obvious as to why she is above the rest.These are made beyond perfectly, with each bead being the right size, in the right place,to ensure they lay right along the neck.

Breaking up the design a bit,these are not only made with round beads, but in the front center there are ‘saucer’ beads that have a heavier oxidized finish for some great contrast.From the center to the back,the beads graduate in size & one thing you'll witness is that they don't 'overlap'..They don't scrunch up against the other,to where your pushing the beads back in their place,but rather have breathing room.

This has her phenomenal cones that completes her necklaces. Her cones have her own signature look,so you don't even need a hallmark,you will always know they're hers.They're made of heavy gauge sterling & are stamped beautifully on both front & back.The hand made extender is made of heavy gauge wire,so you can adjust the length if needed.
