ABOUT AUTHENTIC NAVAJO PEARLS:
Authentic Navajo Pearls are made entirely by the hands of Navajo silversmiths.The art of making Navajo Pearls is an extremely labor intensive process..These are made by going through a lengthy process by cutting,drilling each hole,soldering,filing,hand finishing them & then stringing each,one by one. There is nothing used by manufactures to make them go faster & nothing you’ll find,are done in a commercial way.These are made the ‘Old School’ way & unlike machine cut,touristy,commercial,overseas made beads,these are validated by the beads not having quite the same exact millimeter size, since each bead can vary. You can also sometimes see it in the seams. Navajo Sandra Zambrano is the daughter of Michelle Jameson who also is a master at making Navajo Pearls herself & the daughter of Anthony Bowman..It was Michelle who taught Sandra the art of making Navajo Pearls & now,this is all she is known for.

THE NECKLACE:
Made in a chunky bead size in the 14.5 mm range,with some beads varying very slightly because of the 'hand made' factor,rather than a commercial machine..Striving to make so much that when she makes each,the seams are buffed down so well that it's hard to see a line of demarcation where the two~1/2 beads meet! There is a real art to making these!!

After making bead by bead,she completely hand finishes them & are finished with a darkened oxidation,which gives them a vintage SW look & also which gives them their true Santa Fe appeal.. So there will be no need to pull the polishing rag out with these! :-) They are deliberately left completely darkened,with just a tiny sliver of silver showing,which is where the two half's are joined together.

This is chunky enough so it will look great standing on it's own, but if you got a large size pendant that you need to drop away from the neck,this is the length & millimeter that will help it to look great. If you use a pendant that has a bale(As opposed to a shepherds hook) the bale however,has to have at least a 16 mm opening to go over the bead & also be able to move & breath on the 'pearls'..

If I can suggest that if you do pair this with a pendant,it looks better with a pendant with the same finishing.I carry a wide variety other length's,millimeter's of Sandra's.(See Navajo Pearl listings) as well as a wide range of Navajo Pearls by other artists,from single strands of different millimeters,lengths,to multi strands!

**All Navajo Pearl beads are hollow,with some being light in weight,while others are heavy. The weight of a Navajo Pearl necklace is determined by the gauge of sterling that the artist chose to work with & then of course how big the bead is & the length (More beads)**
