LEARN ABOUT THE JOLENE BIRD AT THE VERY BOTTOM!

THE NECKLACE:

Made with versatility, this was made where you have options so you can wear it on whatever side you choose or how you're feeling that day! Made in a 3 strand necklace that is made with "Purple Violet Abalone shell" that alternates with little tumbled turquoise nuggets. These abalone shells by nature are much smaller than the normal size we see & there are some being called "Purple Abalone", only to find they are 'dyed' that color. These in this set, are their natural color. Personally I would call this abalone more of a warm coppery brown with purple undertones . The shell has almost a metallic shimmer as they move in the light.

What makes it versatile is the non-removable-mosaic inlaid drop that's reversible. Mosaic inlaid inside the shell, on one side it has turquoise inlaid in there & on the other side, it has purple Spiny Oyster shell. The material choice was a good one, since the inlay coordinates with the necklace!

Sold with the necklace are the matching earrings that are made of the same material & are very wearable in weight.(This is a set)

**To see the amazing pieces I have listed by Jolene, including her EXQUISITE mosaic statue that's titled "KATHERINE AT THE MET GALA"!!!! To find: please put her name in the search bar when you're on the front page of the website!! Also check out her son Charles work!

*****I do not consider myself a 'professional photographer" but I do try to give you photos that are 'realistic" in color, just so you're not shocked, nor disappointed when you get the piece. Although jewelry generally always looks better in person, you still have to take the monitor you're looking at the item with, into consideration. Please go through each photo to see any variation to get an idea. Whether it be your computer monitor or phone screen, the item can appear to be either more vivid (Or duller).

In order to give you close up photos so I can provide you with all the detail, photos can tend to make the item look much more larger & everything is more magnified than in actuality. So to get an idea of size, you can either look at it on the body (photo4,5,6) or if you have a measuring tape, please pull it out & compare everything to the measurements I provided you with.

A PERSONAL WORD ABOUT KEWA PUEBLOAN AWARD WINNER "JOLENE BIRD":

A numerous Award Winner mosaic inlay master, I have worked closely with Jolene now for years and one thing I can personally say about her, is that there is nothing that she doesn't come in close contact with that she doesn't get her inspirations from, whether man made or God given. And it's what she sees with her eye that she then goes on to recreate & it’s this, that she also can’t stress enough to her artisan son Charles..She consistently tells him to 'be inspired' by what he sees & then emulate it with a mosaic picture done in traditional stone and shell.

I believe what Jolene offers, is not just about being another Puebloan mosaic artist, doing it the same way as everyone else, but rather stepping out of her own boundaries that separates her from others.. Jolene has wow’d us and all the judges at Native American juried events where she has gone on to making a mosaic inlaid chess set, mosaic sunglasses, fully mosaic gourd pots, mosaic chairs, a mini sized mosaic inlaid Volkswagen Beetle car and even went as far as fully mosaic inlaying a Gibson guitar!!(And that's just SOME of what she's made!) And at present, she's even working on a mosaic 'painting' of a woman she came in contact with that impressed Jolene enough to ‘paint’ her in mosaic form! The word "impossible" is NOT in this artists vocabulary! Jolene's work is highly collectible & gives us a historical ancestral Puebloan past, but with a contemporary edginess !
