I have been working directly with Mary for some time now & it doesn't matter what she brings me,I'm always overwhelmed with those Folk Art style designs of her's,as well as her impressive'eye' of knowing where to place colors in order to get the looks that each have. Her color patterns are unlike no other & have the power to draw you in!
It's no wonder that she was asked to be a selling artist at our Santa Fe International Folk Art Market 2019 which fortunately for her,PBS News Hour just happened to be there & who impressed them the most to interview?Guess! Yes,you can google the PBS News Hour/Mary Tafoya to learn more about this very shy, humble (And incredible!) artist!

DESCRIPTION:
Displayed between hand cut-vibrant colored Kingman turquoise beads are 4 upside down-ice cream cone shape mosaic inlaid pieces, that are designed with cuts of Kingman turquoise, orange spiny oyster & Mary's signature "Conus" shell that she uses in almost every one of her pieces & when she cuts the shell, she then uses the shell that becomes apart of her subject. These give this necklace a very Pueblo Squash Blossom style.
The abstract centerpiece is quite substantial in size, with colors that pair with the 'blossoms'.All the materials are mosaic inlaid atop of black jet & are non removable.
The beads graduate from as large as a 8 mm beaded disk, down to a 3.8 mm size to the back/Has a sterling closure.
****************
Just like anything Mary creates, you will be asked about this necklace anytime it's worn & how can it not help, but bring a positive feel to the soul! It's colorful, happy & has Mary written all over it!
You can pair her pieces together, regardless that they may not be the same,it’s the ‘look’ that matches!
