Kewa Puebloan artists "Delbert & Torevia Crespin's" work stands in a league of their own.. Yes, you'll find them doing the traditional styles that are known in Kewa jewelry, but more times than not, you'll find them creating these extremely eye catching pieces that make you just want to grab the vapors!

I personally feel it's the way they work with their colorful materials, but more so, it's their "Eye" for knowing how & where to then lay them that makes each piece brilliantly stand out to where all you can say is, "WOW"!! They have a signature look that needs no hallmark, because once you become familiar with their work one time, you will be able to spot their work when you see it.

THE NECKLACE:

This set is a perfect example when it comes to the Crespin's 'eye for design'..This may only be made with 2 different types of materials that's made up of 2 different shapes & colors, but it's those shapes & how & where they laid them, that makes this one STUNNING looking set!!

Starting with the whole Spiny Oyster shell that was then cut down & shaped into smaller sections by the hands of these amazing artists, each one of these round disks were cut & shaped by 'eye & feel', without the use of calipers. These are NOT pre-cut disks that were store purchased & restrung & personally speaking with as skilled as their hands are, they do a way better job anyway than any commercial manufacture could ever do!

The energizing colored disks dominate the overall look of the necklace & are laid in a tapered length that graduate from larger in the center front to smaller disks at the rear. It's this fluid graduation of size I believe, is why the necklace drapes around the curvature of the neckline so comfortably well! Used as accenting stones are rectangular cuts of Kingman turquoise that Torevia laid in their appropriate spots & are what help to takes the design up a few notches & give it the presence it has!

The disks are tightly held side by side by Torevia having drilled holes at the shell's edge & then threading each one by way of a twisted wax string.(See backside last photo) This is a genius & very impressive way of connection & they are very secure the way she did this!

** Because this lacks sterling, allows this necklace to be very lightweight & extremely comfortable on the neck! So for those that may have neck problems,I honestly think you will love the weight of this! (See weights below)**

THE EARRINGS:

The earrings are very wearable in size & weight & are made with the same size disks that are at the rear of the necklace. If you zoom in on photo 4,you will see 2 holes that were drilled for her hand made wire loops so that the ear wires have something to hook onto.
