It's earrings like these that were made nearly 100 years ago, that make you step back to where all you can say is WOW, not only for their historical vintage beauty, but how perfectly they're made & especially that many years ago! All I could think of was "If this artists work was this good back in the day when tools were much more primitive, what would their work be like in future years"???

These earrings came from a serious Santa Fe'an jewelry collector & the 1st thing I thought when they pulled them out, is that they had to be made by one whose no less than a master artisan. I may be wrong, but I don't believe these were made for any kind of 'tourist trade' but rather for a close family member, since they look to be specially made! These are definitely worthy enough to be in a Native American museum & are HIGHLY collectible.

They are designed in a repeated dual tiered pattern, where the tops are designed exactly the same as the bottom tier. Made in a classic Zuni petit point style, these are made in a “Dot-Dash” layout where each stone is precisely cut at the same size, with the 1.5 mm round cuts being super tiny & the horizontally laid oval slivers are only 3 mm x 1.2 mm small. As you can see, because the cuts are so perfectly sized, gives these their flawless & very uniform look. The earring design is finalized with 5 little squash blossom dangles & even though some of the blossoms have wear, I personally think that is what also gives them their character & validates their age.

A FINAL NOTE:

These were made with NATURAL turquoise & because the cuts haven't changed in color like you often find in vintage Zuni cluster work, tells me that the turquoise used is of a "Harder" grade, which equates with "Quality" in turquoise, since it's the 'softer' cuts that change in color, since they are more porous & soak up skin oils..

If you love Zuni vintage (As I do!!) & can't wear anything heavy, you will love the weight of these! ( read weights below) They're very light in weight, while giving you a historical look of the past!

Please Note:To give you close up photos, pictures tend to make the item look much larger. Close up photos make the item look so large & then you get them in hand & you are disappointed since the item is much smaller than how they looked in the photos..So to get an accurate idea of how big these are, please either check them out being worn to get a rough idea (photo 2 ) or you can pull out a tape measure & compare to my given measurements
