ABOUT LARRY COOLEY TURQUOISE:
These ultra premium cuts of turquoise are just another perfect example of the turquoise that came from the late Larry Cooley's collection.. Larry was a "scholar" in the turquoise industry & had a vast collection from every single mine, having on hand only the finest, premium qualities, so that when artists like Federico & other designers would come to buy, this was who they went to.

Larry collected for decades & since then,many mines have since closed down. His collection of course was all natural & one thing you wouldn't find in his stock were low grade & or treated stones.He wouldn't dare want to sell what he wouldn't collect & or use for himself. He was a true connoisseur & showed it in his inventory. This is one reason his name stood out in the industry & why he was the "Go-To" dealer for many designers. His collection was mined long before they started treating turquoise & had the best that each mine produced.

Being that these cuts are premium natural cuts, is why it's getting more & more difficult to find, unless you're willing to pay top dollar per carat. After Larry's passing, everyone wanted dibs on his whole collection, but because of Federico's long time connection with Larry & Larry's family, he was fortunate to purchase this 'once in a lifetime' limited & very pricy collection(This is reflected in price) So once these stones are used up, they're gone!

THE EARRINGS
Elegantly laid out in a 6 stone drop, these are designed with a sampler selection of cuts coming from top various Nevada mines. The pros that come from using a 'sampler' from different mines is for the fact that for one, (And one of the main reasons) it creates more contrast to the earring & gives them less of a 'uniform' coloring which makes for a much more interesting earring! If you've been collecting turquoise & know a little some thing about it, one thing you will notice with these,is their unbelievable quality! Personally,it's type of quality & color that I believe also looks phenomenal when set in gold!

Hand picking similar shaped cuts for both earrings, the turquoise comes from the rare Blue Gem mine, Royston & Pilot Mountain. Each of the stones have a different tonal color & different colored matrix pattern's that range from brown's to gorgeous golden brown's. Having a wide variety of color, the colors go from teal blues to green! (Zoom in on all the provided photos!)

These have a 'southwest upscale' style quality that are made in a simple bezel setting, that capture the beauty of the turquoise where the sole focus is on the stones rather than a lot of sterling work that can distract from their design. Due to the generous amount of materials, these do have a bit of weight,so for those who only wear dainty, ‘I can hardly tell they're on' type of earrings, these then might be a bit much. You're the only one who knows what weight you can handle, so please read the weights below..
