All these stones were carefully hand picked to emulate the beauty of a miraculous Dragonfly! They both have 2 things going for them, 1 is for the cuts that were selected for a great design & 2, is the top notch quality of turquoise that they both have!

These cuts came from, none other than the well known turquoise vendor, Larry Cooley.(To learn more about the unbeatable collection he had, please click on his name in nearly every category!) One thing that wow’s me every time I look at both pairs, is the incredible quality, especially the Sleeping Beauty turquoise cuts! The Sleeping Beauty turquoise are on the tops of both, the eyes & the upper left & right wings. ,whereas the center body & bottom wing portion in design 1 is made with high grade natural, non treated cuts of Royston Turquoise, whereas in design 2, the body & bottom wing portion in design 2 is made with high grade natural, non treated cuts of Pilot Mountain Turquoise. By adding these Nevada cuts, really gives them a boost of contrast!

WEIGHT: Design 1’s weight is heavier than design 2’s.(Please read weights below)

A NOTE:**Premium quality turquoise is getting harder & harder to find these days & IF an artist does find it, they will have to pay top dollar, per carat, which then gets reflected in the retail price.. More & more, many of these mines are now closed down & or depleted, which only raises the price that much more & the more it becomes unavailable, the higher per carat each stone is. Anymore, on less expensive jewelry, many artists are now having to buy stabilized turquoise, which is generally a lower grade that’s ‘chalky’ & will break & crumble when the lapidarian goes to cut it,so they have to stabilize it in order to be able to cut it.But it’s nothing but a lower grade turquoise.

PRICE IS BASED ON: Artist name & recognition, turquoise quality, cost per carat for this quality, amount of carats, turquoise availability, sterling cost & artists time are all reflected in price.  Anything made with Cooley turquoise will also demand a higher price due to rarity, quality & availability.
