There's a unique beauty that you get when jewelry is made with one of the most multi colorful shells like Abalone.. I truly believe that any good & experienced artist that works with a vast collection of stones & shells, knows how by using one material, can actually compliment another material that's totally on the other end of the spectrum..All the attributes of one, can actually come to life when combined with another in comparison than when using one material alone.(For example, using Abalone alone or turquoise alone) This is the beauty of Abalone.. Naturally having gorgeous chartreuse lime colors, periwinkle colors, purples, pinks, blues, tans & yellows, you can pretty much put just about any colored rock/gemstone with this shell & will do nothing but bring out the beauty of the other!
With this said,these are made with light teal green cuts to deep colored greens of turquoise that are complimented with the Abalone. On one earring there are more periwinkle colors in the abalone,whereas the other,it has greens & blues.These colors are seen as you move the shell in different directions.
They're made in a size that sits snug against the ear & in a clip on style. They are made with evenly matched 8 mm round cabs of turquoise which contributes to their precise & very uniform appearance. The stones are bezel set in a mirror polished sterling which gives these their contemporary edginess. Make a great work, to an evening out earring!
