The beauty that can be found in Federico's jewelry, is for the fact that he can take us in so many different directions in regards to a vast collection of designs that have a wide variety of colored gems!! He takes on a jewelry journey that can go from giving us his purely romantic Oaxaca Dove jewelry, to his phenomenal turquoise jewelry, to his most elegant pearl jewelry, to using lots of Amethyst & then will turn around & will include materials like Abalone that are just as fabulous & stunning as the rest! But one thing all these styles have in common, is they're made with a look (& or size) you don't always find. If you've never witnessed his abalone jewelry,well then,these are just one good example.. Abalone has always been a favored shell throughout Federico's birth place of Mexico & it's a shell that many of the well known masters of Mexico would use, especially during the Mexican Silver Renaissance Days..

THE EARRINGS:

Very elegant to the eye with a somewhat "Aztec" vibe, these are creatively made by using 4 different cuts of Abalone which are made in a moveable 5 tier length, where the 3rd tier displays a rectangular cut of the shell in the center & has faceted garnet crystals that are laid horizontally on the sides to give this portion more width.. This section is sandwiched between the larger square cuts of the shell that are on the 2nd & 4th tiers. Adding the 3 linear cuts on the bottom really add a magnetic look to the overall design & are what helps to give them their longer length.

The beauty about working with Abalone is for the fact that whatever color gem you pair them with,seems to bring out that particular color within the abalone,.And depending on how lively the gems are,makes for a livelier earring. They can either tone down the overall color or make it vibrant. Pairing the shell with these berry colored gems tends to compliment all the colors of the abalone,but especially their reddish pink hues!

On the right earring in the photos,I tried to capture the best I could, this ultra GORGEOUS periwinkle color on the square cuts, that are on the 2nd-4th tiers! OMG! When the light hits these,it's like a firework of color!!! But the chartreuse'’, the yellows, greens, oranges & creams in these are just as amazing! They really are the beauty of our waters!

They have an over the top 5th Ave. elegance, that are made with a modern day edge & are very contemporary in style. Everything is placed atop of a mirror polish finished sterling & are designed in a clip on style. (There's quite a bit of weight in these!) These would make a lasting impression at any elegant event when you make an entrance with these on!!!

Would look just as fantastic with a pixie haircut, to long & lengthy, to tousled!
