THE PAINTING:

Designed for the culturally refined, art historian's with the focus on the Latin America's.. So If you study art or maybe just one who lives & breathes it,, you then can’t help but appreciate this purse.. Not only will you be walking with the Virgen de Guadalupe, but you’ll be carrying a finely made Italian leather one that’s made BY HAND right in the heart of Texas!

Having studied under the masters from the Cuzco School of Art, Our Lady Guadalupe is painted by a skilled artist who Kurtmen Fine Leathers commissioned to paint these religious figures on a panel,,so that they can then be applied to their purses.

The 8” x 6” panel is painted in rich metallic coppery golds & teal blues,as well as using a technique called "Impasto" painting, meaning that they added expressiveness to the painting so the viewer is able to notice the strength and speed in which the artist applied the paint & actually push's a piece from a painting to a three-dimensional sculptural rendering. You can see this in the linear shaped strokes, the stars on her mantle & on the upper part of her dress. Her mantle is painted a teal blue because to the native people, this was the color of the gods and of royalty.

THE CROSSBODY:

Completely put together by hand, Texas based Kurtmen Designs could not have paired this beautiful painting with anything more than perfect than their bronzy brown mocha colored embossed Italian leather "DAMASK" leather, that also has the coppery/gold color in it! It was like they were waiting to be put together, like a perfect marriage of colors!

It's made in a small sized Western crossbody pouch purse which is a great size when you’re out shopping, going to Flea Markets or anytime you just don’t have much to carry! , This is why Kurtmen calls this their “Petite Traveler”! I feel crossbody’s are one of the 'safest' style purses to carry like when or if you have kids & need you're hands/arms free, when you're traveling or are just out shopping and have a lot of shopping bags! They're great because you always know where your purse is at & is on your body at all times!

The flap is hand whip stitched in a "copper metallic colored " leather,along with the fringe. When you lift the art flap, the purse has a zipper (for extra security) & has a cloth lined interior & has an interior zipper.

This cannot be replaced, since it's a "One of a Kind" piece of art, with no 2 the same.. This is my only one with this painting & with this type of leather. This crossbody is a piece of “ART” and is something you'll be able to cherish a lifetime..
