FRANK SANDOVAL 1970's Vintage Navajo Unisex Kingman Turquoise 925 Cluster Cuff
FRANK SANDOVAL 1970's Vintage Navajo Unisex Kingman Turquoise 925 Cluster Cuff
Made in the 1970's,Navajo Frank Sandoval chose Kingman Turquoise, which seemed to be the turquoise of choice when this was made.Even though all the stones have a overall oval look to them, some have a rounded cut.The stones were not calibrated by machine, but rather by cut by hand. The stones still have a polished look to them & sit in their scalloped hand made bezels.
This is a heavier cuff, that has a diagonal lay out..The cuff gives you the illusion,as if the turquoise is sitting high, when actually they sit low on their own sheet of sterling & when the thick, sterling high domed wires are laid between each section,it actually makes them sit lower,as if they are 'caged' in there..
The three 1/2 round wire shank spread accommodates the height of the cuff.Warm patina gives this a luscious appearance & the bright, mouthwatering blue turquoise, seems to only be enhanced up against it.The shank has maintained it's shape & is in the same way as if new.
