THE CUFF:
Designed in a 19 stone row style of evenly sized square 'tile' cuts that follow the full entirety of the skinny 3/8" width shank. In this business there are 2 ways you get your stones.. You either buy them already cut or you cut them yourself & what I find impressive with these cuffs, is for the fact that each one of these cuts were cut "Free Hand" without the use of calipers & were cut by 'eye and feel'. Normally artists will take the 'quick route' & purchase already cut perfectly smooth- perfectly sized cabochons to put in their designs, but with these, everything was done with the power of the hand where the lapidarian started from the whole rock & then cut and shaped each one of these cuts!! There is no comparison when you consider the workmanship & the time involved to make this from beginning to end.. This is the beauty of 'artisan' made jewelry!
What I find fascinating about these particular Kingman turquoise cuts, is not only for their bright blue color, but check out the matrix in these! The matrix goes from these bright golden yellows to golden browns! The blue reminds me of Sleeping Beauty turquoise & are quite vivid! The lapidary work is outstanding & the lapidarian gave each cut a wonderful professional finished look. They are laid in a channel laid pattern that spans the length of the cuff.
Both of these have the same 'total' 6-1/8" circumference, but what's different in the 2 is that one has a 5-1/4" interior with a smaller 7/8" gap, (larger interior circumference-smaller gap) while the other one has a 5-1/8" interior with a 1" gap. (smaller interior circumference-larger gap) (See photos 6 & 7) So how you will choose which one is best for you, is ask yourself, "Do I need a smaller gap or a larger one"? The gap has a lot to do with your arm size,(or wrist area) so the bigger the arm, the wider the gap should be. The skinnier your arm is,then you want to go with a smaller gap opening. Cuff's are one of the only bracelets that HAVE to fit properly, so it's of extreme importance that you know your wrist size before purchasing.
