ARCHANGEL RAPHAEL

Raphael is identified as the patron Saint of the blind,of happy meetings, of nurses, of physicians and of travelers. Raphael is said to guard people on their journeys, and is often shown holding a staff. He is also shown holding or standing on a fish. The fish is a symbol of his healing of Tobias's father Tobit with the fish's gall. His feast day is celebrated on September 29th.

THE TOTE:

Like the clothing, jewelry & shoes a woman wears, a woman's identity is also told by the purse she carries & will always say a lot about who she is & what she's about. And when you're carrying a purse that looks like a piece of fine art, it can't help but show off your culturally sophisticated artsy side!

The oil painted Saint Raphael panel is hand painted by a artist who studied under the masters from the Cusco School of Art,who then sells them to Kurtmen to display on their fabulous Italian leather purses. This traditional style of painting originated after the 1534 Spanish Conquest of the Inca Empire..These style of paintings are from Roman Catholic artistic tradition based in Cusco, Peru during the Colonial period from the 16th to the 18th Centuries.

Painted with ultra gorgeous metallic golds, navy, reds & browns, Kurtmen chose to pair the art with an embossed "Cognac" Damask Italian leather that literally looks like they were made for each other!! The colors in the art are emphasized by the leather & vise versa! The Damask has a solid weight to it & has a durable feel .

It is made in a western style, where the perimeter is lined with hand whip stitched distressed brown Italian leather which helps to give it it's western edge. The panel is held down with 20 gold tone studs per side & has 3 interior pockets & one zipped compartment on the interior. This is a smaller size tote than what Kurtmen normally makes, where we wanted the art to show more on the frontside, rather than a lot of leather.

This cannot be replaced, since it's a "One of a Kind" piece of art, with no 2 the same..This is my only one with this painting & with this type of leather. It is "Art & Kurtmen" at it's/their finest!!! This is a tote that no doubt, that you'll be able to cherish a lifetime..

Like any fine piece of art, this requires respect, care & love!
