THE ARTIST:
A northern New Mexico native from the Taos area, but presently residing in the Santa Fe area, Daniel has been in the jewelry business for years, but has been silversmithing for 10 of those. He is totally self taught & is inspired by all things "New Mexico/Southwestern".. What you're going to get from this artist, is a real sense of New Mexico artistry, with impeccable workmanship!
THE RING:
For the male turquoise connoisseur who loves to own nothing less than the finest turquoise available, this has to be one of the most HANDSOME & extremely masculine rings I am honored to offer!!
Selfishly stealing the spotlight is an ultra FABULOUS cut of Morenci turquoise that speaks for itself & has all the signature markings known to this particular mine.. Pyrite can be seen throughout along with black specks..The obvious quality in this is what pulls you in, as well as for it's size & character!! Professionally cut with a smooth feel & glossy spit shine finishing, is something that only these higher grades/harder cuts of natural turquoise give the lapidarian when cutting. Lower grades that are soft & chalky will not only crack & fall apart when being cut,but they will never give you this same type of glossy finishing!
The shape of the stone dictated the rings design & what I love is that Daniel kept it simple so the stone stands out.
The face sits on a tapered shank that is 7/8" wide by the face & narrows to 5/8" in the center.This shank is wide, so you want to be about a 1/2 size to 3/4 size smaller to accommodate for it's width.
I can't speak enough about this one! It's more that a 10 thumbs up here at Plata de Santa Fe Jewelry!! It's a real keeper!
