TURQUOISE PROVENANCE:

The turquoise this ring is made with came from the late LARRY COOLEY' 1950's-'60's mined turquoise collection..Larry was known in the industry as the ‘go-to' turquoise guy’ who was known for having THE biggest,the highest quality-the most incredible collection of premium turquoise out of anyone,so that when designers like Federico would come along to buy,he could use these gems for his own jewelry designs.Even though treating turquoise starting happening as mines were being depleted & much of what was coming out of the mines were soft chunky rocks, Larry's turquoise didn't need treating since for one,his collection had a higher quality & the higher the quality,the harder the turquoise is.

After Larry's passing,Federico was fortunate enough to get Larry's collection & put these stones into some of his most incredibly designed pieces you'll ever see & once they're used up,they're gone.. Mr.Cooley had a big reputation for his turquoise & all you had to do was say "Larry Cooley Turquoise" in this industry & that alone said a whole lot.

THE RING:

Artistically laid out & fabulously bold in style,this is made with some premium cuts in a "Sampler" style,meaning it is not made with one specific mine,but a variety.The great thing about samplers is for the fact that for one, you get more contrasts of color,since hues change per mine,matrix patterns & colors vary. The elongated huge center cut is from the Morenci mine which has now been closed down for years & was America's biggest copper mine. In this one cut,you will see the specks of the copper that this mine was known for,as well as it's signature pyrite. All the oval clusters are from the Nevada Royston mine & the little round accents stones are from the now closed, Sleeping Beauty mine.
