You might say that Santa Fe’an artist SHANE CASIAS is somewhat of a local celebrity, as well as a respected local artist. If you’re a resident here in Santa Fe or maybe came here to visit Santa Fe at the time of our yearly “SPANISH MARKET”, then maybe you’ve met this local favorite! Shane is known for taking us on a journey that goes from his New Mexico spiritual jewelry, to his New Mexico Zia jewelry, to his crosses & then gives us some of the most amazingly designed Skull jewelry! Yes, this is the artist you may fall in love with , especially if you’re the ultimate Skull lover!!

THE PENDANT:

For being only 3-1/4” long, the 1st thing you’ll notice is the hefty amount of weight this has! It weighs more than many cuffs,necklaces, etc.! While the skull itself was drawn out & then cast by Shane,the star conchos & beads were all created by hand.The highly detailed skull sits on a larger platform size,so the star conchos & beads can be soldered to the base so they too,can be in the spotlight! These are also what helped to dictate the size.

The tapered bale has about a 13 mm opening,so you can use no more than say, a 12 mm diameter to string it on, whether they are oxidized sterling beads, a chain or leather cord. . Even though the bale has a 13 mm opening, you don’t want to use a 13mm since you want the pendant to move & breath on the strand. I do want to also add,that because of the hefty weight of the pendant, what ever you put it on, has to accommodate the pendants weight.
