What an impressive (And elegant!) way to entertain your guests!
These hand made sterling tumbler covers are works of art & were made popular during the 30's-40's Mexico.
Taken from one sheet (Because of the time period,more than likely the sterling was hand rolled out) & then intricately cut out from this one piece & was designed to cover the glass that will then sit in them.The lacey floral design is all hand stamped for additional design.The bottom area is heavier & more solid ,while the cut out area is lighter,since it has less sterling.
There are 4 'slats' on the bottom,which you never seem to find on these & adds to the balance & the look!(see photos 3 & 4 )
The patina is warm & gives it it's wonderful vintage appeal.
