ABOUT NEW MEXICO’S “SANTUARIO de CHIMAYO” CHURCH:
One of the Southwest's most in demand artists Don Lucas,pays homage to New Mexico's CHIMAYO church which is also called the "Lourdes of the Southwest".The Santuario de Chimayo church is tucked away about 20 minutes out of Santa Fe & was built in 1813 & is most greatly known for it's healing dirt where people will walk 100's of miles on crutches & then their crutches are left hanging at the church because they are then miraculously healed by this holy dirt in this very special church when they leave! A MUST go to place when visiting!

THE EARRINGS:
Don designed these with a very New Mexico architectural /Tablita style design that has 3 crosses that are made by hand cutting/hand pounding the sterling..The hand work is validated where you see them having almost an irregular feel to them, meaning that each cross is deliberately made with an unevenness, “non prefect” style which personally I think adds to their charm! A tiny 3mm cabochon sits in the center of each.

They are finished in a Don’s wonderful matte/oxidized finishing,which seems to make the sterling come to life! They are long, but are very wearable in weight!(see weights below)
