THE ARTIST:
The 1st time I saw Tawny's work,I could see this artist had something unique about her work & had a style all her own, with everything created coming from her creative mind,without copying others.No,it's not 'traditional Navajo" at what she does,it's just plain 'art' & executes her original designs into metal form beautifully..
Getting married fairly recently, Tawny was formally a "Willie" & comes from a family of well known Navajo silversmith's such as Ronnie & Rudy Willie to name a few for her uncles,her father being Lonnie Willie & her brother being Cooper Willie.And if you're familiar with any of these names, you can then understand why Tawny had no way from escaping her families foot steps to becoming a wonderful artist.

THE EARRINGS:
Having a undeniable southwest look, these are made with a 4 cross design that overlap the other.. The 'Hand Made' factor is seen throughout & because each bar of sterling was cut free hand, gives them somewhat of a funky irregular shaping. They are made with a hammered textured front side & an un-textured backside. What looks like a 'pearl' in the center of the cross,is actually a sterling bead. The earring has an oxidized finishing & would compliment much of today's oxidized jewelry..
Since they're made with light gauge sterling,allows these to be very wearable & light in weight, while offering a look of the Southwest(See weights below)
