THE EARRINGS:
Called the "Planetary" earrings, these are made by the hands of Kewa Puebloan artist "WARREN NIETO" where he hand cut all the materials in order to create a symbolic pictorial story..
What I love about Warren's work is for the fact that he doesn't just do Puebloan mosaic inlay jewelry that you can find in every gallery & all over the internet, but rather creates jewelry where there's an actual symbolic story, a message, a meaning within the piece. For example, unlike others where they may put the round center of orange Spiny Oyster for a added splash of color, Warren put it there to represent the "Sun" & If you notice there are 7 hand cut fringy dangles that have hand made beads of orange Apple Coral that sit at the bottom & it's these that represent the "7 Stars in the Little Dipper"!
These look fantastic on the ears & whether you want to pair them with you're other Southwestern Lapis & Spiny jewelry or maybe a it's a navy OR orange colored top or jacket you need something for, these will stand out regardless! They're also perfect to wear to a BRONCOS football game!!(Broncos colors! ) Because they lack metal,these have a pretty comfortable weight on the ears! (See weights below)
